Online Learning Portal Flows
These are some user flows for the UCWise project, whose goal is to expand the Computer Science online learning audience. They are creating a Moodle course for Undergrad CS so other schools can access the Berkeley curriculum. I conducted contextual interviews with current CS3 Berkeley undergrad students and found that navigating around a lesson was a problem for them. I came up with the idea that if the subtitle of each step in the section was also a dynamic search bar, they could find material more easily and also jump to whichever section they wanted. This would also help in recall of Section titles which would be a good overview of the material. I also included a “Page Number” for each section which is familiar from books and chapters. This also helps orient the student to a familiar model of the book and makes it easier to navigate. They area able to jump to a specific page, or ‘flip’ pages +1 or -1.
