Psychology Experiment Stimuli
I recently created some stimuli for a psychology study at SF State University. Here is the result:
I started with the image in the middle and created the others with masks.

Working at a small company, it is inevitable to become a jack-of-all trades. These drink coupons are for a conference even though I don’t normally do non-web based design work. I made three versions so not everyone gets the same one. The copy is fun & fresh so I went with that feel for the overall design. I did these on the fly- pun intended, and I think they turned out pretty good for a first try at consumer facing print work.
My first font! I have always loved fonts and typography and this was my first chance to make a font. This is a GD&T symbols font which are used in engineering drawings. Tech Soft 3D wanted to have their own in house font for the 18.0 release of HOOPS Partviewer which is a 2D/3D graphics modeling application.
I made the vector shapes for each symbol in Illustrator and FontMaker and set up the font in FontCreator by High Logic. They have great forums where I learned a lot about font making, unicode mapping and optical illusions that happen to curves on small scales.
I created this installer using NSIS with the UltraModern UI2 plugin. I created a skin for the plugin which skinned every element in the window. All the graphics and the design are by me.

This is an idea I had for stickers: the bar code is the morse code pattern of the word on the sticker. Here is an example for “Love”. It is meant to invoke though exercises of how we label the items in our world. Most items have a bar code sticker representing the purchase price. These would be the opposite of that.
Logo used for installer splash screen and other uses in 2008 HOOPS release. I used Photoshop and worked off the existing HOOPS logo and screenshots from the current release.
